They provide guidance on identifying the vulnerability of on board systems, understanding the risks, and the procedures for protecting ship networks from cyber attacks.

L-band enables remote control of unmanned ships in heavy rain
Frequency bands such as L-band would be ideal for communicating with autonomous ships over satellite in tropical regions as it is the most reliable band in those conditions. It has the advantage of a robust link that can bypass adverse weather. It provides lower data rates compared to K-bands but offers a more cost-effective solution for asset tracking and fleet management.

USCG issues Safety Alert on GPS outages
The US Coast Guard (USCG) has issued a Safety Alert reminding vessel operators of the potential threat of GPS jamming or interference, and urged the industry to be aware of the contingency measures that should be taken on board in the case of an outage.
